City map of barrier-free facilities

On our website you will find a city map showing the facilities for the disabled (disabled parking spaces, toilets, disabled-friendly bus stops, traffic lights for the blind and disabled-friendly telephones). You can also obtain a city map with disabled parking spaces from the city store, the Tourist Info + Service in the Kurhaus or the advice center for people with disabilities. You can also find a city map on the Internet at http://wheelmap.org, in which the wheelchair-accessible locations are entered and anyone can enter further information. You will need the Firefox browser for this.

Cab vouchers - disabled driving service

People who are unable to use public transport due to their disability and can only use a cab with exceptional difficulty (aG sign) and are not motorized themselves or cannot use the vehicle of household members, can - provided they do not exceed a certain income limit - make use of the disabled driving service. This service can also be applied for as a personal budget. The Hochtaunuskreis is responsible for the disabled driving service.

People who have received a rejection letter from the Hochtaunuskreis - due to excessive income - and who live in Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe can submit an informal application for cab vouchers to the town council (enclose a copy of the rejection letter and the severely disabled person's ID card). You will receive a cab voucher booklet that allows you to take cab rides to maintain social contacts or to attend events (not for transporting the sick) worth up to €45 per month.

Special parking rights for severely disabled persons

We would like to point out that the severely disabled person's pass does not entitle the holder to park in disabled parking spaces. For this purpose, the blue disabled parking permit (valid throughout Europe) must be applied for at the Department of Public Order. This is issued to people with the disability mark or in the disabled person's pass. The permit is not tied to a specific vehicle.
