This fully reconstructed Roman fort along the "Limes" (the former fortified border of the Roman Empire) is today an official UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort reflects its Roman past at its original location. On this trip through time, visitors will obtain a vivid picture of the history, culture and way of life of an era dating back more than 2,000 years. The original finds exhibited in the museum and the reconstructed rooms in the fort serve to return visitors back to the Roman age. The tour of the park-like grounds, which are scenically nestled in the breathtaking Taunus, makes every visit a memorable experience where knowledge is acquired as if by itself. The Saalburg, one should know, is not just a museum, but also a hands-on experience. During summer in particular, a variety of adventurous theme events are held here. Come and observe Roman soldiers, traders and craftsmen and, on many occasions, become actively involved yourself. Taberna, the museum café, is a culinary experience in its own right. Opening hours: November to February: Tue-Sun 9:00 am - 4:00 pm; March to October: Daily from 9:00 am - 6:00 pm
