This wooden pavilion on the Wingertsberg, which features a plaque of remembrance, reminds of Friedrich Hölderlin's favourite place. The great poet lived in Bad Homburg on two separate occasions, both times for a period of two years. The text inscribed on the plaque was taken from a letter that Hölderlin wrote to his sister. In this letter of February/March 1799, he describes in great detail his favourite Homburg location. The Hölderlin Pavilion was built in 1985. Today, the premises make up a significant part of the park, which also serves as the seat of the Werner Reimers Foundation.
