In 1845, the city district replaced the dilapidated church tower with a new one in such a way that Bad Homburg's great master builder, Louis Jacobi, was able to add a new nave to the tower in 1876. In the 1930s, the church interior was adapted to the style of the time. But during renovations that occurred almost 50 years later, some of these changes were reversed.
