Cabourg

The history of Cabourg is very old. In 1066, William I sailed from here to England. At the end of the 19th century, Cabourg became a well-known seaside resort. Empress Eugenie makes bathing in the sea popular.

France's most popular seaside resort

Many summer villas are built during this time. The first casino is also built in the Grand Hotel in Cabourg. Marcel Proust writes about the town in his novel "In the Shadow of a Young Girl's Blossom". He lives and writes in the Grand Hotel. The hotel is located directly by the sea. Cabourg has retained the charm of the "Belle Epoque". There are many sports and leisure activities. Many congresses and conferences are also held here. The town has a beautiful sandy beach. You can drive from Paris to Cabourg in a short time. Horse lovers from all over the world come to Cabourg. The town is the center of harness racing in France. The new racecourse hosts harness racing at night from April to October. For golfers, there is a large golf course by the sea. There is also a smaller course for training. There are many tennis courts at the "Garden Tennis Club".
