Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe and its districts

Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe is the district town of the Hochtaunuskreis. Many people live here. The town center is Louisenstraße. Louisenstraße is a shopping street. You can walk there. There are many stores. There are also large department stores. There are special stores. There are cafés. You can take a break there.

Next to Louisenstraße is the spa district. There is the Kaiser-Friedrich-Promenade. Next to it is the Kurpark. On the other side of the shopping street is Dorotheenstraße. Dorotheenstraße leads to the Landgrave's Palace. There is the "White Tower". The "White Tower" is the landmark of Bad Homburg.

The districts are next to the city center. There are residential areas. There are also businesses. There are leisure facilities. The districts are a good place to live. They are on the edge of the Taunus. They are at the gates of the city of Frankfurt.

City center

Louisenstraße is a pedestrian zone. It runs from Schulberg to the town hall. You can walk and shop there. There are also many stores in the lower area up to the Europakreisel traffic circle. The side streets are well worth a visit. There are many festivals on the city's shopping mile. The wine festival is in May. The Lantern Festival is held on the last weekend in August or the first weekend in September. In October there is the harvest market.

There are many sights in the town center. Dorotheenstraße begins at the Landgrave's Palace. There are the two churches Erlöserkirche and St. Marien. The Sinclair House, the City Library and the Hölderlin House are also there. The Kurpark invites you to take long walks. It is in the middle of the city. There are monuments and fountains. The Russian Church and the two Thai salas also tell the story of the town of Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe.

Districts
The town absorbed the village of Kirdorf in 1901. In 1937, the town absorbed the village of Gonzenheim. On December 31, 1971, the town absorbed the municipality of Dornholzhausen/Taunus. This was due to the territorial reform in Hesse. On December 31, 1971, the town absorbed the village of Ober-Eschbach. This was voluntary. On August 1, 1972, the town absorbed the village of Ober-Erlenbach. That was because of a law.
