Online Access Act

The Online Access Act (OZG) is a German law that was passed on August 29, 2017. It aims to promote the digitalization and modernization of administrative services at federal and state level. The OZG stipulates that citizens and companies must be able to use technically and legally feasible administrative services online, which facilitates interaction with authorities. The city of Bad Homburg is implementing the requirements of the OZG in accordance with the time schedule.

The implementation of the Online Access Act (OZG) requirements is carried out by the E-Government department of the City of Bad Homburg. This involved a Group-wide query and structuring of the services in OZG categories, which were made available online. Services that cannot yet be modernized for legal and/or technical reasons or are not yet available online (e.g. applying for an ID card) can be carried out on site. The digitized services can be viewed on the website in the "Online Services" section. Temporarily limited services (e.g. registering for the Christmas market, applying for a vacation card, etc.) are not available all year round.

This is Michelle. Michelle is lying on the beach and enjoying her vacation by the sea with palm trees, sun and maybe a cocktail in her hand. Suddenly she realizes that she has forgotten to register her business. Now she's already on vacation on the beach and can't go to the business registration office in person.

Fortunately, Michelle has an idea. She grabs her cell phone and quickly registers her business online. She can log in and authenticate herself securely via SigningBroker. The SigningBroker enables a login procedure at your bank, which is executed when the desired application is opened. By successfully logging into online banking, they are automatically authenticated and can therefore use the online services on our website.

Meanwhile, a gentleman is sitting in front of the computer at the trade office in Bad Homburg, a cup on his desk with the word "Boss" written on it, looking satisfied and confirming that Michelle's application has been received electronically.

Michelle is now back in Germany, standing in front of her business premises. In her hand is the confirmation of the business registration. We can see a modern building in the background.
