The Catholic parish church in Ober-Erlenbach, St Martin's, is Bad Homburg's oldest church. The richly decorated, Baroque-style place of worship was built in 1765 by order of Count Johann Philipp von Ingelheim. The Baroque-style high altar and the two side altars were taken from the abolished Ilbenstadt Monastery and moved to the historically more valuable St Martin's Church at the start of the 19th century. The Romanticist-style organ, built by the well-known Mainz master organ builder, Bernhard Dreymann, in 1839, is an absolute classic in the domain of organ art and yet another gem in Homburg's rich 'organ landscape".
