Originally erected in 1844 as a wintertime shelter for the landgrave's 40 orange trees, the Orangery served spa guests as a Madeira House and pump room for drawing mineral water, which was regularly taken by the infirm to alleviate a variety of ailments. Today, the Orangery provides a stylish atmosphere for coffee breaks and fine dining. The terrace at the back of the building, next to the Frog King's Pond, offers café visitors a beautiful view of the spa gardens. The restaurant also stages its own events.
