Designed in the classic English style, the "Gustavsgarten" is the only princely garden to have been preserved in its former state. Elements of its original  design may be marvelled at even today. The garden bears the hallmark of Gustav, even more so that of his wife, Louise Friederike, who as a princess of the House of Anhalt-Dessau had grown up in the Duchy's magnificent gardens in Wörlitz. The park, Villa Wertheimber, the gatehouse and the Doric Temple have all been monument-listed since 1988. In 2011, the City of Bad Homburg purchased the Gustavsgarten. At the moment, it is only possible to throw a glance through the garden's gate. The magnificent villa, which was built in 1898 by order of the Frankfurt banker, Julius Wertheimber, was one of the filming locations of the popular German TV series, "Geld Macht Liebe".
