A bit like taking a dip in champagne, this effervescent brine bath offers an invigorating, tingling and relaxing experience. The brine bath is for external use only and is one of the guest offers available at the traditional Kur-Royal Day Spa (www.kur-royal.de). The salts in the water promote blood circulation and help muscles to relax. Drilled and analysed in the early 1850s, the salty water was initially left to its own fate, as the brine was only used for bathing purposes. However, this all changed after the construction of the Kaiser Wilhelm Baths. Here, baths were prepared that, when heated, began to bubble "like boiling water", "... and long after the bath had begun, the brine continued to bubble like bubbling wine". The old borehole, which reached down to a depth of 260 metres, was discovere in 1899. Since the drilling of the new well in the early 1960s, the spring, which was completely renovated in 2012, reaches a depth of 305 metres.
