The Bad Homburg network against violence provides information, raises awareness and draws attention to the issue with numerous campaigns. Women's and men's organizations such as AWO Frauenhaus and Beratungsstelle für Frauen und Mädchen, Männer- / Täterarbeit häusliche Gewalt (Diakonie Bad Homburg), the Bad Homburg network of women's associations and organizations, Zonta Bad Homburg, as well as the municipal women's representative of the city.
Background:
november 25 was officially recognized by the UN in 1990. It goes back to the murder of the three Mirabal sisters, who were killed by the military secret service in the Dominican Republic on November 25, 1960 after months of torture.
The worldwide Orange the World campaign is an initiative of UN Women. Between 25 November, the International Day NO to Violence against Women, and 10 December, Human Rights Day, visible signs will be set up in numerous German cities and municipalities, such as the orange lighting of public buildings and the orange and blue flags with the slogans "live free!" by the women's rights organization Terre des Femmes.
