Vacation trips for children and young people from Bad Homburg can be subsidized - independently of travel offers organized by the city.

Travel for children and young people

All travel offers that are offered by the organizer as designated children's and youth trips with supervision are eligible for support. This applies to all trips offered by a recognized youth welfare organization, a recognized youth group or a special youth tour operator. Examples of such tour operators can be found under "Further information".

Trips to relatives and other private persons as well as trips accompanied by legal guardians or other private persons are excluded from this funding. We will be happy to advise you on the selection of a suitable trip for children or young people. Families are responsible for booking and organizing the trip themselves.

The amount of the subsidy depends on the family income, the number of children taking part in a vacation camp and the average travel costs. Families with up to a medium income can receive a subsidy. Funding is provided within the scope of the available budget, the order in which applications are received is decisive. An application must be submitted to us in good time before the start of the trip. We will be happy to inform and advise you about the application and approval process.

Family trips

In many cases, we also support spending a relaxing vacation together with the family. Especially young families with several children, families with only one parent or families with a disabled partner or child often find it difficult to go on vacation together with the whole family. With this in mind, the town of Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe has been supporting families living in Bad Homburg for many years by providing vacation grants.
