Energy-saving measures - restrictions on pool operations
Dear visitors to the Seedammbad,
as you have read in the press, the situation on the energy markets caused by the war in Ukraine has prompted public facilities to significantly reduce their energy consumption in order to avoid a gas shortage in Germany. In coordination with the energy crisis team of the city of Bad Homburg, there will also be restrictions within the municipal group.
For our Seedammbad, as the largest energy consumer within the public municipal area, the outdoor pool area will therefore close on September 11, 2022. From September 6, 2022, only the indoor pool with the 25m pool and the teaching pool will resume operations for the time being.
The entire area on the first floor of our pool (adventure area, children's pool, etc.), the slide and the sauna will not be available. We are therefore maintaining our swimming facilities for all guests as well as for school and club swimming and are thus meeting the demands of the sports associations to enable citizens to continue swimming and learning to swim.
Due to the rise in energy and maintenance costs, admission prices should actually be increased this year. An energy surcharge would also have to be levied for season ticket users. However, due to the reduction of the offer and the associated energy savings, the admission prices to the Seedammbad can be kept constant. However, a refund/reduction is not possible under the current circumstances.
We ask for your understanding that due to the tense situation it is currently not possible to fully operate the pool, but we look forward to your continued visit.
Yours sincerely
Stadtwerke Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe
