Tickets and fares for bus services

To ensure quick processing at the bus stops, we ask you to buy single tickets from the ticket machines wherever possible. There are speed dial buttons for the most important destinations.

General information

Vending machine locations in the city of Bad Homburg:

• at the station (tunnel)

Without a valid ticket and generally in the evening from 20:00, boarding the bus is only permitted in front of the driver.

Season tickets for trainees are only valid in conjunction with a valid customer card and entry of the customer card number on the token.

Transferable season tickets must always be present at a ticket inspection and cannot be presented subsequently.

Fares

Within the Bad Homburg district boundaries, price level 1 applies with the fare zone number 5101; this also includes Saalburg, for example. It is also possible to take the U2 to the Frankfurt/Nieder-Eschbach border stop.

Season tickets

With a weekly, monthly or annual ticket for adults, you can take one adult and either all of your own children aged 6 to 14 (inclusive) or a maximum of three children aged 6 to 14 (inclusive) with you free of charge from 7 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays and on Saturdays, Sundays and national public holidays as well as on December 24 and 31. Children up to the age of 5 (inclusive) travel free on RMV when accompanied by an older person.

Weekly and monthly tickets are also available within the city districts.

Connecting tickets

With a connecting ticket, holders of an RMV season ticket have the option of purchasing special discounted one-way tickets for journeys that start or end within the area of validity of the season ticket. The connecting ticket is available for adults and children (6 - 14 years). The conditions for one-way tickets apply. The instructions on the screen of the ticket machines explain how to buy the connecting ticket.

Deutschlandticket (D-Ticket)

With the Deutschlandticket (D-Ticket) you can use local public transport throughout Germany by bus and train.

The most important key data:

• Deutschlandticket is available as an eTicket on a chip card or as a HandyTicket via the RMVgo app.
• It is a subscription that is automatically renewed and can be canceled monthly until the 10th of the month at the end of the month.
• Deutschlandticket is personalized and non-transferable.
• RMV take-along rule does not apply. It is not possible to take other people with you

Student Ticket Hesse

The Hessen schoolchildren's ticket is for anyone who just wants to get on and go - no matter when, no matter where. With this ticket, pupils and trainees can travel throughout Hesse for one euro a day all year round - including during the vacations - on all public transport services (buses, S-Bahn trains, streetcars, subway trains and regional trains) operated by the three transport associations RMV, NVV and VRN. The night buses and express bus lines may also be used.

All pupils and trainees who live in Hesse or whose school or training center is located in Hesse are entitled to use the Hesse Pupil Ticket. The Hesse Schoolchildren's Ticket is personal and does not entitle you to take other people with you free of charge.

Senior Citizens' Ticket Hesse

New annual ticket for senior citizens from 2020

The Seniorenticket Hessen is an attractive further development of the previous 65-plus annual tickets and will be introduced on January 1, 2020 as an annual ticket for all persons aged 65 and over. Existing 65-plus annual tickets can be used until the end of their validity. Of course, it is also possible to switch to the Seniorenticket Hessen early on the first of each month free of charge. Please note that it is necessary to submit a change request and contact your contract partner.

The Hesse-wide Senior Citizens' Ticket is available in two different versions:

Seniorenticket Hessen:

The Hesse Senior Citizen Ticket is valid throughout Hesse on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until closing time (5:00 a.m. the following day) on all means of transport operated by the three Hesse transport associations RMV, NVV and VRN, i.e. on buses, suburban trains, streetcars, subway trains and regional trains. It is valid all day at weekends and on public holidays in Hesse. The basic version does not include a travel allowance.

Hesse Comfort senior ticket:

If you want to be mobile at all times, want to travel as a couple in the evening or with your grandchildren at the weekend, the Hessen Komfort senior citizen ticket is the right offer for you. With this ticket, you can travel throughout Hesse every day around the clock, can travel in 1st class on trains and also benefit from the attractive RMV take-along rule, i.e. you can take one adult and any number of children under the age of 15 with you free of charge from 7 p.m. onwards. At weekends and on public holidays in Hesse, this regulation even applies all day.
