Dorotheenstraße - Löwengasse - Am Mühlberg cycle zone

To strengthen cycling in Bad Homburg, the city has set up a bicycle zone in the Dorotheenstraße - Löwengasse - Am Mühlberg area, in which motorized traffic is only permitted for residents. Bicycle zones are an extension of several bicycle lanes and increase the attractiveness of cycling.

The rules of the cycle lanes apply in cycle zones: Bicycle traffic has priority and when overtaking cyclists, motor vehicles must keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters to the side, as in other road traffic in urban areas. The maximum speed limit of 30 km/h applies; if necessary, motor vehicles must reduce their speed further. Bicycles may ride side by side. The "right before left" rule applies at junctions and crossroads. Mutual consideration also helps in a bicycle zone.
