Safety Counseling for Older Adults

The senior safety advisors for the city of Bad Homburg inform older adults about common types of crime and show them how to effectively protect themselves against them.

The focus is particularly on

• The “grandchild scam”
• scare calls
• fake police officers
• fraudulent contractors
• Telephone, door-to-door, and online scams

The volunteer members were trained and certified for this task by the West Hesse Police Headquarters. They giveinformational presentations toclubs and other groups that serve older adults. The group must be based in Bad Homburg. Individual consultations are not offered.

Groups and organizations in Bad Homburg are welcome to invite the senior safety advisors to host an informational session.

Providing individualized advice on protecting apartments and homes from burglary is not part of their responsibilities. For this purpose, the Hochtaunus Police Department offers free criminal investigation advice.
