KOMPASS

KOMPASS stands for the KOMmunalProgrAmm safety seal. The program, which is unique in Germany, is initially being launched in four model municipalities, including Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe. Tailor-made security concepts are now being developed and jointly implemented there by the participating security partners - local authorities, police, citizens and other social players.

Every KOMPASS city and every KOMPASS municipality will receive its own security seal if the cooperation with the state of Hesse is successful. KOMPASS is a program offered by the Hessian Ministry of the Interior to cities and municipalities. The aim of the program is to further develop the security architecture in the municipalities on an individual basis and to develop tailor-made solutions for local problems. The focus here is on prevention.

The COMPASS Advisor plays a central role. The COMPASS advisor is a police officer who documents the progress of the joint initiatives for greater security in constant dialog with the partners. As a first step, he approaches the municipal representatives and works with them to draw up a detailed security analysis for the respective city or municipality. This includes all proven police measures and all programs that are already effective on the ground. Existing measures will also be put to the test and a detailed list of measures drawn up to further improve local security
