Kirdorf Local History Museum e.V.

The Kirdorf Local History Museum was founded in 2006 and is a district museum that complements the cultural landscape of Bad Homburg. The museum documents the unique history of the formerly Catholic rural community of Kirdorf, which had a number of peculiarities in the midst of the Protestant Landgraviate of Hesse-Homburg.

Thematic focus

In addition to local history, the permanent exhibition also presents church life and club life. In addition, special exhibitions are tirelessly put on to mark anniversaries and on current or special topics relating to the Kirdorf district.

The museum building in the shadow of the Taunus Cathedral can look back on almost 350 years of history. The museum has five exhibition rooms, a workroom, sanitary facilities, two storerooms and a spacious horse stable, which is used for events and presentations.
