An extensive collection of fiction and non-fiction, CDs, DVDs, CD-ROMs, magazines, newspapers, board games and console games awaits you on around 2,300 m². With a library card from us, you have access to e-media from the Onleiheverbund Hessen.
The media are presented in so-called "worlds", which are based on the human environment. The user should find everything in one area that belongs together for him (e.g. the world "Atempausen" : everything you do in your free time, food & drink, travel, sport, etc.)
In addition to the media offer, there are numerous events and exhibitions for young and old.
On the first floor, the Hölderlix reading café invites you to linger and relax.
We offer workstations, PCs, chess tables including pieces and several seats. In addition, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the building, which you can use with your private smartphones, tablets, e-readers or laptops.
We are also barrier-free and a member of the Help Island for Children.
The Hölderlix reading café offers food and drinks. Freshly fortified, you can catch up on current topics with our range of magazines and newspapers. In the evenings, the café is often the venue for readings and other events.

If you wish to return media outside our opening hours, you can put them in our letterbox. This is located at the front entrance to the StadtBibliothek.
