Child day care
Child day care includes the upbringing, education and care of children, the majority of whom are in the U3 age segment. According to § 29 HKJGB, child day care is a legally recognized form of care in a family environment. A childminder looks after up to five children in their own home or in rented premises. The small groups of children are similar to a family environment - the childminder develops into a permanent caregiver for your child. They also require a care permit from the responsible youth welfare office in accordance with § 43 SGB VIII. In addition, childminders regularly take part in supervision, further training (e.g. on developmental psychology, nutrition, early childhood education, legal bases) and special first aid courses.

The child day care office of the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe supervises, supports and places child day care workers.

  • The child day care office of the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe offers advice on three forms of care:

    • Child day care in the home of the child day care provider
    • Child day care in a large day care center
    • Child day care in the parents' home (nanny)

In a day care center, you can agree individually with the childminder how long and on which days your child should be cared for. Depending on the number of hours, the childminder receives a corresponding ongoing cash benefit, which is based on the weekly care time of 10 to 50 hours of care in accordance with the statutes for the implementation of child day care (granting of ongoing cash benefits and charging of cost contributions) in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe. Parents pay a cost contribution of € 1.56 per hour of childcare to the town. Additional costs incurred are discussed individually and independently with the childminder.

The child day care office will be happy to advise you on the various options available.
