In 2012, the city council passed a resolution for the preparation of development plan no. 90 "Urseler Straße, Taunusstraße, Jacobistraße" with the aim of developing an inner-city residential area with a daycare center on the former hospital site. In order to safeguard the urban planning qualities, the city commissioned Baufrösche (Kassel) to draw up an urban planning design (see illustration below). On this basis, a preliminary development plan was drawn up and citizens and public bodies were involved at an early stage in accordance with Sections 3 (1) / 4 (1) BauGB.
The owner, Hochtaunuskreis, then conducted a bidding process to sell the site. However, the draft development plan subsequently developed between the city and the investor was not finalized, as the investor withdrew from the project.
The demolition work has since been completed. The site has been vacant since then. The city and the Hochtaunus district are in contact to coordinate the further development of the site.
