The state is responsible for building supervision. The building supervisory authorities do this work. They check whether the rules are being adhered to. The Hessian Ministry of Economics, Energy, Transport, Housing and Rural Areas in Wiesbaden is the highest building supervisory authority. The Darmstadt Regional Council is the higher building supervisory authority for the Rhine-Main/South Hesse region. The building inspectorate of the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe is responsible for the town. It approves construction projects, monitors construction sites and carries out safety inspections.
