Implementation and monitoring of species and biotope protection by the Lower Nature Conservation Authority (UNB).
The municipal authority of the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe, the Lower Nature Conservation Authority, is also responsible for national and international species conservation and biotope protection. It provides technical support for species protection projects and monitors compliance with species protection regulations. If necessary, the Lower Nature Conservation Authority intervenes in projects that could endanger specially protected animal or plant species or legally protected biotopes and takes the necessary measures in accordance with species or biotope protection legislation or consults the relevant authorities, such as the Higher Nature Conservation Authority, the District Veterinary Office and others.
