The Kirdorfer Feld is large. It lies to the north-east of Kirdorf. Kirdorf is a district of Bad Homburg. Almost the entire area is a protected area. Only the orchard, the allotment garden area "Lazarius" and the grave gardens are not protected areas. The wetlands are nature reserves. The other areas are landscape conservation areas. The Kirdorfer Feld has many different meadows. These meadows are in an old cultivated landscape. The area is particularly valuable. There are many different plants and animals. There are many orchards on the slopes. There are wet meadows with fallow land, small streams and springs. These are typical of the area. The meadows in the Kirdorfer Feld are important. That is why the Kirdorfer Feld is a flora and fauna habitat area. This is stated in the Natura 2000 regulation of Hesse.
