The administration of the city of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe is leading by example when it comes to climate protection. The municipal council has unanimously adopted a climate protection concept, according to which the municipal corporation has set itself the goal of achieving energy-linked climate neutrality by 2030 as a role model for the entire city society. The aim for the entire city is to achieve energy-linked climate neutrality by 2035.
The new concept ultimately builds on the more than 20-year-old resolution for the climate protection framework concept. Back in 2001, the Bad Homburg city parliament decided to sustainably reduce the city's carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. Jedynak: "The topic of climate protection is therefore not a new one for the city, we have been dealing with it for a long time, especially as a spa town." in 2020, the decision was made to create an updated climate protection concept.
