Yellow bag

In accordance with the German Packaging Ordinance, the collection of yellow bags is organized purely by the private sector via Duales Systeme Deutschland (DSD). DSD awards the associated services to private disposal companies following a Europe-wide invitation to tender. The company KNETTENBRECH + GURDULIC Service GmbH & Co KG is currently responsible for the collection and recycling of lightweight packaging in Bad Homburg.

The yellow bags are collected fortnightly and must be placed at the roadside. Please ensure that the sidewalk remains passable, including for baby carriages, walking frames, etc. The collection dates can be found in the current waste calendar and in the Bad Homburg waste app.

Sales packaging belongs in the Yellow Bag/Yellow Bin, e.g:

  • Plastic packaging
  • Styrofoam packaging
  • Plastic bags
  • Disposable bottles
  • Plastic film
  • (Yogurt) cups
  • Aluminum foil
  • Composite packaging, e.g. Tetra Packs
  • Metal packaging, e.g. cans
  • foamed plastics

Do not put in the yellow bin/yellow bag e.g:

  • Waste glass
  • Waste paper
  • Children's toys made of wood or plastic
  • non-packaging materials, e.g. baby diapers
  • non-packaging plastics, e.g. buckets, flower boxes
  • Kitchen waste
  • Scrap metal
  • Hazardous waste

More yellow bags received

The company commissioned by Duales Systeme Deutschland (DSD) is also responsible for distributing the bags to every household at the end of the year. If you do not have enough bags, you can obtain additional bags at the recycling center. Distribution is only for Bad Homburg residents and is limited to one roll.

If you have run out of yellow bags, you can also use transparent bags.
