Residual waste

Residual waste includes waste that can no longer be recycled and is not hazardous (no special waste). Residual waste is collected every 14 days and the large residual waste containers (770 l and 1,100 l) every week. The collection dates can be found in the current waste calendar and in the Bad Homburg waste app.

Separate correctly

The residual waste garbage can (black garbage can) should contain e.g:

  • Sweepings, vacuum cleaner bags
  • Wallpaper residues
  • Mirrors
  • Flat glass waste
  • Porcelain and ceramics from the household
  • Wooden or plastic toys
  • Medication, plasters, bandages
  • Diapers, hygiene articles
  • Textile scraps, rags, rags
  • Cat litter, small animal manure, small animal litter
  • Cold ash
  • Cigarette butts
  • Wax
  • Slides, cassettes, video tapes, floppy disks
  • Adhesive tape, string, rubber, plastic parts
  • Baking paper
  • Thermal paper/receipts
  • File folders
  • Writing and office utensils (e.g. felt-tip pens, ballpoint pens, markers, backing paper from stickers, labels)
  • Light bulbs and halogen lamps

The following, for example, do not belong in the residual waste garbage can

  • Waste paper
  • Waste glass
  • Tin cans, hazardous waste
  • Plastic packaging
  • Composite packaging
  • Organic kitchen and garden waste
  • Energy-saving lamps and LED lamps

No residual waste at the recycling center

Please note that no residual waste is accepted at the recycling center! This applies to all small items with an edge length of less than 80 cm in bags and boxes as well as for purchased residual waste bags.
