Garden waste

Take advantage of our free garden waste collection service for private households, which takes place 10 times a year: In the months of February to November. You can find the collection dates in the current waste calendar and in the Bad Homburg waste app.

What is taken away?

  • Brushwood, leaves, bark, grass cuttings
  • Lumber and branches (no thicker than arm-thick, no longer than 1.5 m)

Not accepted:

  • Soil
  • Grass clippings
  • Thicker branches, tree trunks and stumps - please dispose of via the bulky waste collection service or at the recycling centers (max. 1 m³)!
  • Garden waste provided in plastic bags, pop-up containers, big bags and cardboard boxes

How it works

Please bundle clippings only with string or twine, up to max. 1.5m in length.

Approved containers (ATTENTION: new rules!):

  • Paper bags up to 80l (waist-high) and at least 3-ply

Waste in other packaging, e.g. in larger containers than specified above, plastic bags, big bags, pop-up containers or cardboard boxes, will not be accepted!

The green waste must be placed at the roadside on the day of collection. Please ensure that the sidewalk remains passable, including for baby carriages, walking frames, etc.

The total volume must not exceed 4 m³.

The burning of garden waste is strictly prohibited throughout the city.
