Types of burial

Burials can be made as burials or urn burials in the municipal cemeteries. Here you will find the individual burial options. You can also download the information as a PDF below.

Special burial sites for earth burials

These gravesites are family gravesites with a larger surface area and a preferred location, usually on main paths. These gravesites are allocated for a 40-year period of use and can be extended. Pre-purchase is possible. In addition to a burial, up to six urns can be interred.

Family gravesites

Family gravesites are gravesites for burials in which up to four urns can also be interred. There is a choice of single-seater family gravesites and multi-seater family gravesites in which several burials are possible side by side. In the case of deep graves, two burials can be made one above the other in one grave. The location of the gravesites is determined in consultation with those entitled to use them. These gravesites are allocated for a 30-year period of use and can be extended. A grave certificate is issued for the right of use. Pre-purchase is possible at all municipal cemeteries, with the exception of the Gonzenheim and Kirdorf cemeteries.

Earth meadow row graves - at the forest cemetery

These are earth row gravesites that are laid out in a meadow that is maintained by the cemetery staff. A uniformly sized and shaped horizontal grave slab with the deceased's details is prescribed. This means that no personal care is required. Individual planting is not possible, but flowers and bowls can be placed in a central location. It is not possible to extend the right of use.

Row gravesites

Row gravesites are burial sites for earth burials that are occupied in sequence and are only relinquished in the event of death for the duration of the burial period of the person to be buried. Only one burial may take place in each row grave. It is not possible to reacquire or extend the right of use; after 30 years, or 20 years in the case of children's row graves, the grave will be cleared.

Special urn gravesites

These gravesites are family urn gravesites at the Waldfriedhof and the Ober-Eschenbach cemetery with a larger area and a preferred location, usually on main paths. These gravesites are allocated for a 40-year period of use and can be extended. Pre-purchase is possible. Up to six urns can be buried.

Family urn gravesites

Family urn gravesites are urn gravesites for which a right of use is granted for 20 years and whose location is determined in consultation with the beneficiaries. Pre-purchase is possible at all municipal cemeteries, with the exception of the Gonzenheim and Kirdorf cemeteries, where up to four urns can be buried. Renewal and repurchase are possible.

Urn meadow row gravesites

Urn meadow burial plots are single-digit burial plots for ashes in all municipal cemeteries. They are occupied one after the other in a grave field in a meadow and are allocated as a single or deep grave in the event of death. Up to two urns can be buried in each urn row meadow grave (deep grave). When purchasing the right of use, the beneficiaries must indicate whether the grave is to be laid out as a single or deep grave. An extension is only possible for a second burial within the resting period of the deep burial. Maintenance is carried out by the cemetery administration. A uniform, horizontal grave slab with the data of the deceased must be laid. Individual planting is not possible, but flowers and bowls can be placed in a central location

The parents decide whether they want to bury their child individually or have it buried in the burial ground. In this case, the deceased children are buried together. Flowers and flower arrangements can be laid at the memorial stone and the children remembered. Funeral services are held several times a year for the relatives and all those affected. Dates can be obtained from the cemetery administration.
