Together with the company book-n-drive, the city of Bad Homburg offers car sharing with two Renault Zoe electric cars. The electric car has a range of approx. 140 kilometers. The actual mileage also depends on whether, for example, air conditioning or heating is switched on. Here we explain how you can use the car.
Register free of charge at www.book-n-drive.de/badhomburg. Both private individuals and companies can book cars.
Take your driving license to the mobility center at the station. There you will be given your MobilityPass. It is the electronic key for all book-n-drive cars, even outside Bad Homburg.
Once you have received the MobilityPass, you can book a car online or via the company's app. Please note: Each car has a reserved parking space. This means that if you book the car at Bad Homburg Town Hall, it must also be returned there.
As soon as you have booked the car and want to drive off with it, you must first unlock the car, as the car key is in the glove compartment of the car. To unlock the car, you must hold your card (i.e. the MobilityPass) in front of the sensor attached to the windshield.
As soon as the car is unlocked, you can remove the power cable from the refueling device and the charging station. Please note: You can only remove the power cable from the refueling device when it is unlocked. Please stow the power cable in the trunk before driving off. You can now use the car as usual.
When you return the car, it must be charged. The cable for this is in the trunk. Before you can plug the charging cable into the charging station and into the refueling device on the car, you must activate the charging station with your card. To do this, simply hold the card in front of the charging station display. Please do not forget to charge, otherwise the next customer will have to wait for the car to charge. This takes half an hour of his time.
When the device is charging properly, you will see a corresponding indicator on the display. You can simply leave the car connected to the power supply.
Please insert the key with the round tag back into the holder in the glove compartment, close all doors and hold the card in front of the reader behind the windshield from the outside. A click of the central locking system and the red LED on the reader indicate that the car is locked again.
