The organization of the fire department

Bad Homburg has a fire department. The fire department has permanent employees. There are also volunteer firemen and firewomen. They are organized in 6 district fire brigades. The headquarters of the Bad Homburg fire department is in Dietigheimer Straße. The fire station is in the city center. You can always call them if there is an emergency (see contact below).

The Bad Homburg fire department also helps in other areas. It has personnel and special equipment. If necessary, it is called out from other cities or federal states. For example, during the major floods in Saxony.

The Bad Homburg district fire departments joined forces in 1957. They are members of the district fire brigade association. They are also members of the Hochtaunus district fire brigade association. The fire brigades in the Hochtaunus district are members of the district fire brigade association. The association organizes training courses in the district. It also manages the death fund of the fire department in the district.

The employees who are permanently employed

Almost 40 firefighters work from Monday to Friday from 6 am to 6 pm. They work full-time. They protect people. They work in the fire station in Dietigheimer Straße.

You need technical training to work as a firefighter. You can also study at a university of applied sciences or technical college. After that, you do two years of training.

The firefighters set off 90 seconds after the alarm.

The fire department management sets operational standards. They develop technical concepts. They continue to do so. This also includes planning hazard prevention strategies. It considers how threats can be safely controlled. The head of the fire department is Daniel Guischard, a qualified engineer. He is also head of the civil protection department at the city administration.
