Childcare

The town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe offers daycare facilities for children of different age groups in crèches (for children up to the age of 3), child daycare, kindergartens (for children from the age of 3 until they start school) and after-school care (for school-age children), supervised elementary school and childcare centers as well as play and learning rooms.

They are youth welfare facilities for the promotion of children through education, upbringing and care. The municipal services are supplemented by a large number of church facilities and privately-run childcare facilities. Here we explain the various services on offer.

  • The city of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe is lifting the suspension of childcare fees in the daycare centers and the cost contributions in child daycare. With the transition to regular operation with hygiene measures, the respective valid fee statutes of the city of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe for the daycare centers and the valid statutes for child daycare apply.

  • For the admission of your child, the municipal facilities are subject to guidelines adopted by the municipal council. This also includes all-day care. You may need to provide proof of employment and complete the form below.
For the admission criteria of non-municipal facilities, you must contact the respective provider.

    Crèche

Your child can be admitted to a crèche from the age of 6 months. The crèches work with different pedagogical approaches. The pages of the individual facilities provide you with an overview.

    Kindergarten

Your child can attend a kindergarten from the age of 3. The offers and educational concepts vary from kindergarten to kindergarten. The websites of the individual facilities will give you an initial insight. Some of the places in the facilities include lunch.

    School childcare

There is childcare for school children outside of school hours - in supervised elementary school, childcare centers and day nurseries.

    Cross-age care

These facilities look after children from the age of 2 until they start school.

    Child day care

In accordance with Section 29 of the Hessian Child and Youth Welfare Code (HKJGB), the range of day care facilities is supplemented by child day care.
This is used for the upbringing, education and care of the child during the day by a suitable day carer in their household, in the household of the person with custody or in other suitable rooms.

When your child is looked after by a childminder, many things can be arranged individually. Childcare is possible for all age groups.

The day care facility and the childminder have an independent educational and child-raising mandate. They complement and support the child's upbringing in the family and promote the child's overall development through general and targeted educational and child-raising activities. In particular, their task is to stimulate the child's mental, emotional and physical development, to promote their social skills and to give all children equal opportunities for development. In order to fulfill this task and to ensure a continuous educational process, the educational professionals work in partnership with the parents/guardians and the other institutions and childminders involved in education and upbringing.
