Healthcare industry

A total of around 80 companies work in the healthcare industry in Bad Homburg - from preliminary work to production and marketing.

In addition to international giants such as FRESENIUS and LILLY - with their corporate and German headquarters - there are many medium-sized companies with high innovation potential as well as renowned clinics and care facilities. Over 5,000 people are employed in this cross-sector industry at the location. This corresponds to a share of over 17% of the total number of employees. The complete mapping of the "healthcare value chain" results in many opportunities for corporate cooperation, both horizontally and vertically. Personal contacts have already led to successful partnerships. For example, between the medium-sized companies Inter-Medico GmbH and the medical supply retailer Rosenkranz Scherer. Inter-Medico plans and builds hospitals, today mainly in the East, and buys home care products from Rosenkranz Scherer - manufacturer-independent, simple and uncomplicated.

To promote cooperation and exchange between the companies, the business development agency organizes regular meetings of the healthcare industry at the location.

The city of Bad Homburg has been an active sponsoring member of the House of Pharma & Healthcare (HoP) from the very beginning - demonstrating its outstanding position as a healthcare location in the FrankfurtRhineMain region.

The HoP sees itself as a network of public-private partnerships that links various interests along the pharmaceutical value chain in order to develop solutions to the challenges facing the healthcare system.
