New design rules for Louisenstrasse

Shaping the city center together - your participation counts!

Our city centers are changing - and with them come changing expectations of retail and gastronomy. In order to do justice to these developments, the city management of Bad Homburg is currently revising the
"Guideline according to §3 (5) Special Use Statutes for the Louisenstrasse Pedestrian Zone".

This is a design guideline that specifies how advertising systems, product displays, furniture and other elements of the pedestrian zone may be designed and positioned. This includes, for example, the type of chairs and tables in front of a store, the number of merchandise tables or what type of parasols are permitted. These design guidelines of the town of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe are over 20 years old and have only been changed slightly since then. In the opinion of the administration, the design guidelines are no longer up to date and should therefore be revised.

Do you run a store or restaurant in the Louisenstrasse pedestrian zone?

Then we cordially invite you to participate in this process. We would like to actively involve you, as stakeholders in Louisenstrasse, in the revision with your practical experience and your view of everyday life.

Your experiences, ideas and suggestions are a valuable contribution to the further development of a lively and attractive city center.

Note: Only the design guidelines are being revised, not the special use statutes themselves. These can only be found under the following link: Special use statutes (version valid from March 2023)

Your participation makes the difference - for a city center that has a future.
