Contaminated site register - Information

The Hessian state administration collects data. This data is stored in a central information system. The system is called Altflächenendatei. The data is on old industrial sites and disused landfills. Other soil contaminations are also recorded.

Areas with indications of contamination are suspected. These areas are called suspected areas. If the damage is extensive, the area must be remediated. The area is then called a contaminated site or harmful soil change.

If you want to buy, convert or build on a plot of land, you should obtain information. This information is about pollutant contamination. It can be found in the contaminated land file.

The data in the contaminated sites file is environmental information. This is stated in the Hessian Environmental Information Act. You have the right to inspect and obtain information. Access is limited. This is stated in paragraphs 7 and 8 of the Hessian Environmental Information Act.
