Platform for data and devices for measurement

The topic "data platform" has many parts. These parts are projects:

- Data platform (cosma21)

- LoRaWAN

- Environmental sensors

Platform for data

The data platform is a hub for data. Third parties can later access data. Third parties are, for example, companies or partner companies. They can exchange data with the city group. The core application is called cosma21. It is the heart of the data platform. The solution comes from ekom21. Cosma21 accesses devices. Devices are sensors, for example. Cosma21 accesses specialist applications. Specialist applications are, for example, process control systems. Cosma21 accesses cloud solutions. Cosma21 collects and organizes data. Cosma21 creates evaluations. Cosma21 creates correlations. Cosma21 helps with decisions. Cosma21 provides KPIs. KPIs are key figures. Cosma21 provides citizens with information. Information is, for example, flood reports.

LoRaWan

LoRaWAN is a wireless network technology. It transmits data over long distances. It is very energy efficient. This technology is for the Internet of Things. It is known worldwide. Stadtwerke Bad Homburg already has such a network.

The aim of the LoRaWAN sub-project is to expand the technology. We use LoRaWAN sensors in various areas. The data is transferred to a platform. This allows us to improve efficiency and coordination in various areas. We use LoRaWAN. This is how we take advantage of the Internet of Things. We develop new solutions for our city.

Environmental sensors

There are more natural disasters all over the world. Germany also often experiences bad weather. Cities have to respond well. Different areas work together. These include disaster control, depots, water authorities and environmental and climate protection. They look at the tasks together.

The first step is to find suitable sensors. In the second step, they connect different data sources. This provides users with important information quickly. The environmental sensors are important. They help to provide early warnings of natural disasters and bad weather. This keeps the city of Bad Homburg safe. The community stays safe too.

The project is funded by the "Starke Heimat" funding pot.
