Digitization
A strong home
The state of Hesse is helping cities and projects with digitalization. In April 2023, the town of Bad Homburg, together with Friedrichsdorf and Wehrheim, received a pledge of funding. This was the start of an exciting project. The project is called "Digitally and smartly overcoming the Limes".

The collaboration between the three towns is special. The towns are different sizes. Each city has its own problems and solutions. They are close to each other. They have similar tasks. The project has eight parts. The cities participate in the parts. Four projects have started. They want to take the first steps towards digitalization in Bad Homburg and the other cities.

  • Digital participation
Digital inclusion and digital exclusion: participation in a digital society. There are two perspectives on digital inclusion. Inclusion with digital media is one perspective. Inclusion in the digital society is the other perspective. The city of Bad Homburg is trying to give citizens access to digital media. The focus is on certain age groups.
  • Digital information from the town hall
Digital town hall information is intended to improve information and services. The information is easy to find. Everyone can use it. The administration works digitally and automatically. This saves time and materials. In crises, the portals are important sources of information. They inform citizens quickly and accurately. We promote digitalization. We use digital channels more. Our goal is to make citizen services better. Digitization should help the community.
  • <Datenplattform und Sensorik>
A data platform is a solution. It collects, processes, analyzes and displays data. This data comes from systems, processes and infrastructures of a company or several companies. The city of Bad Homburg's data platform has one goal. It wants to collect open data. This data becomes information for the administration and citizens. An important goal is for the public to learn more about data and information. The quality of the data should improve. This will enable the administration to make good decisions. The platform helps the administration to work better together. It becomes more efficient. Trust in the administration will increase. The platform is transparent and based on data. It supports the community. Data from different areas is collected. The "silo mentality" is broken down. The data is accessible. Smart City information is collected in the city and with partner municipalities. It is made available via cockpits. The "data platform" theme has several parts. These parts are projects: - Data platform - LoRaWAN - Environmental sensors
