Pollutants

Keep your waste garbage can free of hazardous substances. Use the regular collections of hazardous waste. The disposal of hazardous waste is only for private households and businesses in Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe. The dates for the collection of hazardous waste can be found here (see below).

What can be dropped off?

You can drop off some things free of charge. It must not be much. Liquids must not be more than 20 liters. Corrosive liquids must not be more than 10 liters. Everything together must not weigh more than a lot.

  • Batteries, car batteries
  • Acids and alkalis
  • Waste containing oil (oil filters, cleaning rags)
  • Laboratory chemicals (only for home use)
  • Aerosol cans with residues, fire extinguishers
  • Medication (also hand in at pharmacies)
  • Cosmetics
  • Solvents and thinners
  • Household cleaners
  • Paints, varnishes, adhesives, glue
  • Plant products
  • Pesticides
  • Wood preservatives
  • Edible oils and fats

Please note:

  • Please leave all items in their original packaging. This helps with sorting.
  • Do not mix leftovers. It can be dangerous.
  • Do not place hazardous waste on the street. You must give them directly to the employees.
  • Do not accept unknown chemicals and pollutants.

Please bring your hazardous waste only on the specified dates. The recycling center does not accept hazardous waste at other times.
