Georg and Doris Lehnert have been married for 20 years. The children are out of the house, the couple could find each other again... The temptation comes in the form of Laura, Georg's doctoral student, and suddenly his relationship with Doris is on the verge of collapse. The couple turns to a separation therapist. That sounds like 'divorce light'. But the audience can quickly enjoy the gap between the hoped-for problem-free separation and the emotional confusion of the couple. The question of who takes the dog is initially of secondary importance in addition to laboriously wrestled down or shooting emotions. Only when there is an irretrievable loss to mourn does melancholy set in among the combatants, which is able to cast many things in a milder light.
