Cycle lane along the spa gardens

Bad Homburg is gradually implementing projects to improve cycling. The first cycle lane was opened in Weinbergsweg in 2021.

With Weinbergsweg/Paul-Ehrlich-Weg between Kisseleffstraße and Seedammweg, the city has designated the first street in the city area as a cycle route. Mayor Alexander W. Hetjes hopes that this will make the road more comfortable and safer for cyclists.

Important route to school

Paul-Ehrlich-Weg and Weinbergsweg are an important part of the school route to Kaiserin-Friedrich-Gymnasium. The city is also improving the east-west connections.

What is a cycle lane?

A cycle lane is a road intended for cyclists. Cyclists are expressly permitted to ride side by side.

Other vehicles may use the road if they are permitted by an additional sign. Motor vehicles must adapt to the speed of cyclists. The maximum speed for all vehicles is 30 km/h. If necessary, motor vehicles must reduce their speed.

The "right before left" rule applies.
