To register, we need your identity card or passport with a registration certificate and the completed registration form. Your address and contact details will be entered into our system and you will receive a library card.
By doing so, you also accept our user regulations.
Children and young people up to the age of 15 can only be registered by a parent or guardian. The parent or legal guardian must provide proof of identity (see above). In addition, please fill out the registration form available in our office. Alternatively, you can download the form here.
You can only register on site.
An annual fee of €12.00 is payable for adults (aged 18 and over) to use the services of the StadtBibliothek, with the exception of asylum seekers and holders of the Bad Homburg Pass and the Hessen Volunteer Card (E-Card). New library users can use the library free of charge for the first month if they register on site.
You do not have to be a resident of Bad Homburg to obtain a library card. However, after 10 years of inactivity as a reader, the account will be deleted.

Do we not have a medium in our collection that you would like to use? Then you are welcome to request it and we will check whether it is a suitable addition to our stock and inform you about the possible acquisition.
You can also indicate whether you would like to pre-order the item for a fee in order to secure the first loan.
If you would like an eMedium, please express this wish directly to the Onleiheverbund Hessen.
Schools, daycare centers and other institutions can create their own free user accounts and authorize employees to borrow media from these accounts. The prerequisite is, of course, that the media are needed for work and are not used for private purposes. Institutions do not pay any fees.
To register, the registration form must be completed, stamped and signed by the institute management.
You are welcome to send us an e-mail requesting a date for your group.
We offer guided tours for all age groups as well as read-aloud activities, picture book cinemas, kamishibais and much more.
Would you like to use event media with your group or yourself? Then you can order and borrow the materials from us.
We will put together book boxes with all the media for you on any topic you wish. Please order two weeks in advance!
