The district of Ober-Eschbach has had a local advisory council since 1972 as a result of the agreements on incorporation in the course of the territorial reform. The establishment and duties of the local advisory council are regulated in the Hessian municipal code.

The members of the local advisory council are elected by the citizens of Ober-Eschbach at the same time as the city councillors for the term of office of the city council. They work on a voluntary basis for their district. The local advisory council must be consulted on all important matters affecting the local district, in particular on the draft budget. It also has the right to make proposals in all matters concerning Ober-Eschbach.
The local advisory council consists of nine members.

For the SPD: Dr. Dietlinde Klar-Scheinert, Wolfgang Laupus.

The local councillor (chairwoman of the local council) is Yvonne Velten. She is represented by Felix Fischer.
