Digitization
Workplace future
In its digitalization strategy, the city of Bad Homburg v. d. Höhe is pursuing the goal of creating a communicative, flexible and autonomous working environment for all employees by 2027. This includes access to information, IT-supported workstations as required, the promotion of collaboration and cooperation as well as the possibility of location-independent, mobile working.
The city also plans to actively market this new working environment in order to attract new employees, as the job profile is changing and many people are looking for a flexible work-live relationship.
In order to meet the diverse requirements of the various workplaces in the city administration, standard workplaces will be defined for groups with similar requirements. These will be uniformly equipped and managed by the Information Technology and Procurement departments. Collaboration is to be technically optimized through digital work equipment, the introduction of systems such as electronic files and workflow systems as well as the automation of mass processes. Furthermore, a great deal of emphasis is placed on supporting knowledge and training for core tasks, providing introductory support for new hires and developing digital skills. Collaboration is further promoted and practiced through various techniques such as collaboration structures, project management and teams. This holistic approach is intended to equip the city of Bad Homburg's workplaces for the future.
