Data strategy

The City of Bad Homburg claims to have developed a vision for the handling of business-relevant data and to have put the topic on the agenda at management level. In this context, a data strategy was developed to achieve the vision and the associated goals.

The City of Bad Homburg's data strategy outlines a long-term vision for the collection, storage, sharing and use of business-relevant (big) data.

Essentially, a roadmap is developed for how data should be handled. This concerns technological aspects (hardware, software), business and organizational aspects (including objectives, KPIs, structures and processes) as well as legal aspects (including data protection).

To gain a better understanding of the current situation, a basic analysis and categorization of all data generated in the city and within the city group was carried out in 2021. Building on this, a basic data strategy was developed in 2022, meaningful use cases for data usage and concept approaches for integration into a data platform were defined. The data strategy is continuously adapted and is integrated into the overall approach of the city of Bad Homburg's digitalization strategy.
