The City of Bad Homburg claims to have developed a vision for the handling of business-relevant data and to have put the topic on the agenda at management level. In this context, a data strategy was developed to achieve the vision and the associated goals.

The aim of the WLAN project is to install or provide WLAN in all buildings of the municipal group - at every location (99% coverage). This also includes the elimination of additional registrations (without login) for Group-owned devices. In addition to WLAN in public buildings, the aim is also to provide free WLAN on city buses.

This project realizes an extension of the existing stamp pass app of the city of Bad Homburg for touristic purposes. The app uses QR codes and augmented reality technology to offer tourists and locals an interactive experience. (Augmented reality is a medium that consists of a virtual extension of reality with three-dimensionally registered and real-time interactive elements. These should be presented to users as if they were part of the real world using suitable systems that appeal to one or more senses)
