There are plenty of parking spaces near the pedestrian zone. There are old buildings and new buildings in the city center. You can see half-timbered houses and modern architecture.

There are many stores in the pedestrian zone. There are also boutiques and cafés. You can stroll around there. You can stay there. There are cultural sights. For example, the Kurhaus. Or the Landgrafenschloss. Or the spa gardens. There is a fountain in the spa gardens. The fountain has healing water. The city center is easily accessible by bus and train. There are many leisure activities. Residents and visitors can do a lot.

The cultural life in the city center is diverse. There are many offers. The Kurhaus is magnificent. There are often concerts there. There are also theater performances there. There are important cultural institutions in the city. These include the city library and the Sinclair House. The city library has many books and media. The Sinclair House exhibits modern art. The English Church is a beautiful building. It is used for art exhibitions and music. It expands the city's cultural offerings.

The atmosphere is cheerful. In winter there is the Christmas market at the castle. The city center then looks like a winter wonderland. There are festively decorated stalls. The atmosphere is Christmassy. A special series of events is the "Bad Homburg Summer". There is music, theater and events for families. The Kurpark and other places in the city center are then full of life. These festivals and events are important for the city's culture.

History of Bad Homburg

The town center of Bad Homburg has a long history. The town was first mentioned in 782. In 1330, Bad Homburg was granted the rights of a town. This was important for the development of the town. The White Tower is a well-known building. It was built in the 12th century. It was part of a castle.

Bad Homburg's economy improved in the 19th century. The healing springs were discovered. Bad Homburg became a health resort. Many important guests came. Aristocrats from Europe also visited the town. They influenced the architecture and culture. The landgrave's palace used to be a castle. It was often rebuilt. Today it is an important historical and cultural center.
